Support for Communication, Learning & Confidence
Speech Therapy ServicesAt Frankly Speaking Speech Pathology, we provide assessment and intervention for children aged 3–16 years who are experiencing difficulties with speech sounds, language and literacy development.
Whether your child is difficult to understand, has trouble expressing their ideas, struggles to follow instructions, or is finding reading, spelling or writing challenging, we provide evidence-based support tailored to their individual needs.
Speech
Helping children communicate more clearly and confidently.
Speech is how we make and use sounds to say words. While many speech errors are a normal part of development, some children have ongoing difficulties producing sounds clearly.
Your child may benefit from speech support if:
- They are difficult for others to understand
- They have ongoing difficulties producing particular sounds
- Family, friends or teachers frequently have trouble understanding what they are saying
- You are concerned about how their speech is developing
We can assess your child's speech and provide targeted support to help them communicate more clearly.
Language
Supporting children to understand others and express their own ideas.
Language is how we understand and use words, sentences and conversation to communicate.
Children rely on language every day to follow instructions, answer questions, learn new information, express their ideas and interact with the people around them.
Your child may benefit from language support if they have difficulty:
- Understanding what is said to them
- Following instructions
- Answering questions
- Finding or using the words they need
- Putting their thoughts into sentences
- Expressing their ideas clearly
We can assess your child's language skills and provide support to strengthen their understanding and use of language.
Literacy
Building strong foundations for reading, spelling and writing.
Literacy includes reading, spelling and writing. These skills are essential for learning and everyday communication, but they don't develop naturally—they need to be explicitly taught.
Some children need additional support to develop these skills.
Your child may benefit from literacy support if they are having difficulty with:
- Learning to read
- Reading accurately or confidently
- Spelling
- Writing
- Developing the foundational skills needed for literacy
We assess the skills that underpin literacy development and provide targeted intervention to help children become more successful readers, spellers and writers.
