From Assessment to Progress
Assess: Understand Current Skills
Assessing your child's current skills and identifying areas of support is the first step in their literacy journey.
Assessment will take place during the first session, with feedback provided to you afterwards.
Plan: Create a Personalised Pathway
Using the assessment results, an individualised learning plan is developed.
Goals are tailored to your child's strengths, needs and stage of learning, helping ensure teaching is targeted and purposeful.
Teach: Learn New Skills Explicitly
New skills are taught through explicit, structured and evidenced-based instruction. Concepts are broken down into manageable steps, helping your child build understanding and confidence.
Practise: Build confidence through repetition
Learning is strengthened through guided and independent practise, with regular opportunities to apply new skills and build accuracy, fluency and confidence.
Short, targeted home practice activities will also be provided to support learning between sessions and consolidate new skills.
Grow: Celebrate Progress & Success
As skills develop, teaching is adjusted to meet your child's changing needs. Progress is celebrated along the way, helping your child become a more confident and capable reader, writer and speller

What's the Difference?
Tutoring or Speech Pathology?
Tutoring is an academic learning service and is separate from Speech Pathology assessment or therapy.
Your child does not need to have a diagnosed speech or language disorder to access tutoring, and a child will not receive a diagnosis through tutoring sessions.
If, during tutoring, there are signs that an underlying language, literacy or broader learning difficulty may be present, Eliza will discuss this with you. An appropriate assessment and/or referral may then be recommended.
